Wade Childress
SVP E&O
Wade Childress, P.E., serves as Senior Vice President of Engineering and Operations. With two decades of experience, he has cultivated a deep expertise in the engineering, design, and construction of complex natural gas infrastructure, demonstrating a proven track record of success in both private equity and public company environments.
Prior to joining Bluebonnet, Mr. Childress led the Engineering and Construction groups at Piñon Midstream, where he oversaw the deployment of over $250 million in capital across a four-year lifespan. His technical leadership was critical in developing Piñons core assets, which included New Mexico’s largest acid gas injection facility, over 50,000 horsepower (HP) of compression across five stations, and 270 MMcf/d of treating capacity and more than 30 miles of pipelines. This success culminated in the company’s monetization via a successful exit to a large, publicly-traded midstream company at an enterprise valuation of nearly $1 Billion.
He previously gained significant leadership experience at Caiman Energy II/Blue Racer Midstream, a midstream company focused on the gathering, processing, and fractionation of natural gas and natural gas liquids (NGLs) across the Ohio River Valley. He initially joined as a Project Manager on a $110 million dual-lay pipeline project and progressed to managing the company’s project development process. This progression provided invaluable cross-functional experience across teams including SCADA/Gas Control, Business Development, Finance, and Construction.
Mr. Childress began his energy career at Enbridge Gathering and Processing, where he focused on the operation of legacy gathering, treating, and processing assets in East Texas while also managing new capital projects in the rapidly developing Haynesville Shale.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University and is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
